“This book is written on behalf of the boy Tonino. He talks about his life and about the family. Especially about grandfather, who was his best friend. In the summer, before the first class, Tonino spent a whole month in his village. And so they were calm in their souls. Every morning his grandfather made him Gogol-Mogol for breakfast, and they fishing together, worked in the garden, climbed into a cherry tree, and everything went very well. But then very sad happened: grandfather died. And through his garden they decided to lay the road and cut the cherry tree for this! Grandfather planted this tree on the day he had a daughter, mother Tonino. And grandfather once said that after death he would like to turn into this cherry. And now the mayor sent workers with an excavator to clear the place … I just could not read, I was indignant. Can’t you go around the way? So that the mayor finally understand this, Tonino took and climbed into the cherry! And sat there for several hours. He froze terribly and hungry. But the cherry saved. After all, it was the main memory of grandfather. Grandfather, even when you were alive, said: “You do not die while someone loves you”. I think it’s true. And then, it’s still easier to live when you know that a close person has turned into something, than to imagine
